A 4-year-old girl from Omuangete village in Kaokoland, Namibia, will soon be joining her husband in marriage once she attains the age of 6.
The girl was allegedly married off to a 25-year-old man in 2018 according to the Ovahimba customs. She was still breastfeeding when she was given away and a traditional marriage ceremony held.
Arranged child marriage is a common practice among members of the Ovahimba community of north Western Kunene.
