Tanzania’s President, HE John Pombe Magufuli is dead.
The death announcement was made on Wednesday by his Vice, Samia Suluhu Hassan, after a week of speculation.
Rumours about Magufuli’s death started last week, with reports indicating that he was nursing COVID-19 at the Nairobi Hospital in neighbouring Kenya then later flown to India.
However, his VP has dispelled these rumours and said that the former head of state died of a long term heart condition at a local hospital.
He was the 5th President of the Republic and has been survived by his wife Janet and two children, Jessica Joseph.
