2nd Forbes Under 30 Africa Summit
The Forbes Under 30 Africa Summit is scheduled to take place in Gaborone Botswana on April 23-26, 2023.
The summit will feature established business leaders from companies in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Nigeria, and South Africa, among others.
Among the speakers include Kenya’s Deputy President, His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua, and Sauti Sol.
Gachagua is a strong advocate of the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA) and a seasoned civil servant with a decorated track record in Public Administration and Management.
The four-day event aims “to harness the power of entrepreneurial capitalism amid a country whose growth is ripe with opportunities for young entrepreneurs and rapidly becoming a hie of business and technological innovation.”
It seeks to recognize 30 of Africa’s most ingenious innovators under the age of 30 in the categories of Business, Technology, Creatives, Sport, and Science/Health.

Here is a list of the 5 young tech achievers who made it to the finals, alongside their inventions;
1. Muthethia Mbaabu
The 29-year-old Kenya is a co-founder and CEO of MarketForce, a YC-backed retail payments startup.
2. Blessing Abeng
A 28-year-old Co-Founder and Director of Communications at Ingressive for Good (I4G), which empowers Africans to improve their earning capacity through micro-scholarships.
3. Hansel Ndu-Okeke
A 24-year-old Nigerian who is the co-founder and COO of Weevil Company, a technology consulting firm focused on data analytics for organizations.
4. Yvette Ishimwe Yvette
A 25-year-old Rwandan, Founder, and CEO of Iriba Water Group.
5. Jessica Mashama
Jessica, 27, is the co-founder and director of Assumpter Digital Schools, which is billed as “the first digital school in Tanzania.”
